2014 Donation Recipients
This seasons donation will go to Myungjin Orphanage. As we did a couple of seasons ago, a drop box for essential daily household items will be organized at the banquet by Marc Fafard. In the Image Gallery under Off The Break, there is a category titled 2014 Summer_Fall Donation Recipients with pictures from the orphanage. Also pictures of the kids at the desks and book shelves purchased with the IPL donation 2 years ago are shown on the upper right side of this page.
The orphanage is called Myungjin Children's Welfare Center and is located near Gubeundari Station (굽은다리역) on Seoul subway line 5 (in Cheonho Dong in the southeastern part of Seoul). Two years ago our members were very generous at the drop box, led by the Scrooge Pub team. We would like to do even more this year, so step up and show the Scrooge Pub team who is King of the Mountain.
They have given us a Christmas Wishlist, so if anybody wants to donate any of the following, there will be a drop box provided in the Crown Hotel on the night of the banquet:
Priority items:
- Toilet paper
- Shower gel (not hair shampoo, as it is a luxury the center does not have the funds to replenish)
- Laundry detergent (preferably liquid detergent with fabric softener)
Other items:
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Socks (featuring cartoon characters)
- Gloves
- Mufflers
- Toys
- Old/extra smartphones (for use with Kaokao and wifi)
